Don't Swear

Again, you heard it was said long ago: You should not swear a false oath; rather, you must do as you vow before Jehovah.
However, I tell you this: Swear oaths by nothing at all!

Don’t swear by heaven, because that’s God’s throne;
Don’t swear by the earth, because that’s His footstool;
And don’t swear by JeruSalem, because that’s the city of the great king.
Don’t swear by the hair on your head, because you can’t turn a hair black or white!
Just let your yes mean yes, and your no mean no; for bad things come from anything beyond that.
